Camera Image analysis tells, that the meteorite fell down at midnight.
News about meteorite told first Keskisuomalainen.
Arto Oksanen from Amateur Astronomical Association Sirius in Jyväskylä says that the images of meteorite estimated location has been calculated good. It has fallen to Kangasniemi Solkkasuon Kauppila the village, south side of Great Kaituri lake .
"Now we try to find out information about the wind, because they can throw meteorite quite far away, when it nosedive 30 kilometers altitude free fall to earth."
About 300 grams of heavy meteorite is a large meteorite. That finding is difficult, if it has not fallen into the road, for example. Stone does not have easy to find, says Oksanen , either to look for it.
Meteorite appears to have the ordinary brick, but it is the surface dirthy and partically melted. Around the snow may be the soot.
"If a meteorite has fallen to the United Kaituri on the ice, it can easily be seen as a few weeks from now, when the snow melts. On the ice is unlikely to have too many stones."
From Finland have found a total of five meteorite, and are detected annually. Oksanen tell, that is first case in which the meteorite would have first seen in the air and then found.
Saturday's findings of meteorite and any images to find place, where it falls down, eny kind of notice is might be needed. Therefore is told Oksasen phone number+358( 0)40 565 9438.
